SQL Database

SQL Database

Back in 2010, I introduced a professional SQL database at my employer, which is running since then and has only ever grown in complexity.

As of now, it contains more than 50 highly inter-related tables, another 20 programmed views that aggregate and calculate data, plus several dozen system tables.

The backend is based on MS SQL, while the frontend utitlizes combit Relationship manager, a highly customizable software that offers great freedom in user interface design. Most of the DB tables have associated interface masks, with complex function to support data input and ensure validity and consistency.

In addition, there are several web-front ends based on the same database, which are used by external users (applicants, reviewer, guests, media, Nobel Laureates, etc.)
Since Covid-19, everything runs entirely in the cloud, which comes with comfortable acccess from anyhwere to all parts: backend, employee-frontends, multiple user-frontends.

I have been in charge of personally setting up most of the database structures, programming logic and views, as well as designing the server environment.

Note on images: There would be more interesting images available in principle, but with respect to personally identifiable information, the shown data and data structures are very limited.
